Dependencies
- The default time zone set in your business unit is automatically used and takes precedence unless you set a different timezone with a Timezone action in your script.
- Use Timezone before the
- Individual regions, countries, or cities within a time zone can vary in how, when, and whether they observe Daylight Savings Time (DST). This information changes often. For this reason, the online help cannot list all current variations within a timezone. It's the customer's responsibility to understand how DST is observed in the locations where they operate.

Script Example
This example is not a complete script. Additional scripting work is required to use this action.
In this basic partial phone script example, Begin triggers the script, which then uses the TimeZone property (in the Timezone action) to set the timezone to Eastern Standard Time. The script then uses the Hours of Operation profile (created in the Hours action) to determine if the contact center is open or not. If it is open, a Menu will provide options for the caller.

The options in this list do not strictly adhere to the time zones found in other lists available on the internet.
For example, the list contains the following options: Mountain Standard Time and US Mountain Standard Time. The second option is only for Arizona, while the first is for all other states within the Mountain Standard Time zone. In other time zone lists, there is only one time zone listing for this region of the United States.
- The option names do not match the time zone labels displayed in the CXone platform, such as in Personal Connection or in the business unit configurations.
- The DST Observed by Action column indicates whether the Timezone action applies a change to that time zone during Daylight Savings Time (DST).
- The Notes column provides additional information about each time zone option, including its UTC offset. The listed UTC offset is the offset that the Timezone action applies to each time zone when DST is not in effect. For time zone options that the action applies DST changes to, the UTC offset is one hour more than the stated offset when DST is in effect.
- All other information in the Notes column comes from outside of the Studio action.
Always use a source outside of the online help to verify the time zone and DST observation of the locations where your organization operates. This information changes often and NICE CXone cannot guarantee that the Timezone action has been updated or that the information in the online help is current.
Test your selected time zone to verify that it provides the time and DST observation that you require. It may be necessary to adjust your script to achieve the results you need when using the Timezone action.
