Self-Service Port Management lets you request changes to the concurrent port limit. Changes can be for your own business unitClosed High-level organizational grouping used to manage technical support, billing, and global settings for your CXone environment, for your customers, or both. If Personal Connection is enabled for your business unit, you can request changes for any combination of outbound, agentless, or concurrent ports. The tool automates several steps that were once manual:

  • Opens a case in Salesforce.
  • Validates you're authorized to make the request.
  • Verifies any increase in concurrent ports is still below the daily limit set by CXone Network Operations. If verification passes, the requester is notified and the Salesforce case is closed.
  • If you request an increase that would exceed the daily limit, Self-Service Port Management asks you to provide more information. It then sends a request for approval and tracks the request until it's approved or rejected.
  • Shows you a list of requests, including the Salesforce case numbers and other information.

Classics, Inc., is a CXone partner and manages the business units for its customers. One customer, The League of the Scarlet Pimpernel, is planning a membership drive. Classics administrator Percy Blakeney requests a temporary increase in concurrent and outbound ports. He uses Self-Service Port Management to automate the process.

  • Self-Service Port Management is part of Monitoring Gateway, which must be enabled for your business unitClosed High-level organizational grouping used to manage technical support, billing, and global settings for your CXone environment by your Account Representative. Monitoring Gateway is mainly designed to meet the unique needs of CXone partners.
  • To see your current port limits and requests in Self-Service Port Management, you must have these permissions:
    • Monitoring Gateway > View
    • Self-Service Port Management > View

    To request port limit changes in Self-Service Port Management, you must have these permissions:

    • Monitoring Gateway > View
    • Self-Service Port Management > Create

    These permissions can only be set by a Account Representative.

  • Increasing your concurrent port limit impacts your cost.
  • Concurrent ports per business unit cannot exceed 9,999.
  • If you use Personal Connection, outbound and agentless ports cannot exceed concurrent ports. This can affect your ability to decrease concurrent ports.
  • You can combine changes for different kinds of ports in a single request. However, all changes in a request are accepted or rejected together. For example, you may request a change to both concurrent and outbound ports. Self-Service Port Management would never approve the outbound change but reject the concurrent change, or vice versa.

  • You cannot combine changes for multiple business units in the same request.
  • You cannot create a new change request for a business unit if there is already a request that is pending, new, or under review.
  • You can track the progress of your requests in Self-Service Port Management. Each request lists the Salesforce case number, which you'd need to communicate about it with your Account Representative.
