Manage Your Softphone Shortcut Keys

The following tasks are performed in the Shortcut Keys tab of the Softphone Preferences window. Click Softphone > Preferences > Shortcut Keys to access this tab.

Enable Shortcut Keys

  1. Select the Enable shortcut keys checkbox.
  2. Click OK.

Enable a Specific Shortcut Key

  1. Scroll to locate the shortcut key you want to enable. The actions that you can choose to take using shortcuts include the following:
    • Answer call — Connects you to the contact when you use it as your phone is ringing. The default key is CtrlShiftAlt + A.
    • Hang up call — Ends a call when you use it during a voice interaction. The default key is CtrlShiftAlt + H.
    • Focus on Softphone — Moves your computer's focus from your current program to Softphone. Doing so pulls the Softphone window to the top of your open computer windows. The default key is CtrlShiftAlt + F.
    • Mute or unmute softphone — Mutes your current call. If the call is already muted, the same key unmutes the call. The default key is CtrlShiftAlt + M.
    • Redial — Redials the last phone number in your call history. This feature does not connect you to a call in Softphone because you must place your calls through MAX to connect with the CXone platform. The default key is CtrlShiftAlt + R.
    • Dial selected text — Dials the numbers or letters you highlighted with your cursor. This feature does not connect you to a call in Softphone because you must place your callst hrough MAX to connect with the CXone platform. The default key is CtrlShiftAlt + D.
    • Focus on Joined Share Screen — When you are viewing a contact's screen, moves your computer's focus from your current program to the shared screen. This feature is not available in Softphone.
  2. Select the checkbox in the Enable column.
  3. Locate and enable all the shortcut keys you want to be able to use.
  4. Click OK.

Change the Key Combination for a Shortcut

  1. If you have not already done so, select the Enable shortcut keys checkbox.
  2. Scroll to locate the shortcut key you want to edit.
  3. Click the Action name in the row of the shortcut you want to edit.
  4. Click Edit....
  5. Select the checkboxes of the keys you want to require for the shortcut. You can choose any combination of Ctrl, Shift, Alt, and Win (the Windows key).
  6. Type the letter or number you want to combine with the selected keys in the text box.
  7. Click Assign.
