NICE CXone IEX WFM Import allows you to import data into IEX WFM Integrated from outside sources. This is helpful when you have a recurring or regularly-scheduled need to import data. You can also use it for one-off data imports, such as when setting up a new system. Data may come from forecasting systems or from your HR system. Data imports with IEX WFM Import are intended to be periodic, such as on a daily or weekly basis. IEX WFM Import does not provide real-time delivery of data.

IEX WFM Import uses a secure FTP (SFTP) connection between the system you upload files from and IEX WFM Integrated. You provide files with specially-formatted data from your data sources. When you have the properly-formatted files, you place them in the designated directory and IEX WFM Import uploads them to the NICE CXone SFTP server. IEX WFM Import then copies data from the files into the IEX databases.

You can automate the process of generating the data files and placing them on the system that IEX WFM Import uploads from, or you can do it manually. Additionally, you can contact NICE CXone Professional Services for assistance with the process of creating data files.

IEX WFM Import supports 6 categories of data. Each category has unique requirements for the formatting, name, and the location of the data import file on the system you upload from. The data fields or elements and guidelines for each type of data also differ.

Errors During Import

If the data you're expecting to see after importing a file doesn't show up in IEX, it could be due to an error. IEX WFM Import generates log files that can help a NICE CXone support representative determine the cause of the error.

Improper formatting of data import files is a common cause for import failures. Prior to contacting NICE CXone support, check the formatting of the data in the file. Also verify that the file name and the location of the file on your server are correct.

Errors during import can occur for multiple reasons. These can include:

  • File name is incorrect.

  • File formatting is incorrect.

  • File encoding is ANSI instead of UTF-8.

  • File was transferred to the SFTP server as binary instead of ASCII.

  • For Vacation Summary import files, if a time off code doesn't have an Earnings Type in IEX, the import will fail when that code is included in an import file.

  • For XML data files, elements are located outside the root element.

  • Date or time formatted incorrectly.
