Ports

NICE inContact uses industry-standard protocols and ports for the inbound and outbound phone channels. Other channels, such as chat, email, and work items do not use ports. There is not a limit to how many ports you can request. You are billed for any excess ports used.

This topic outlines the ports that must be opened on client workstations, firewalls, or both to access the correct server IP addresses for your NICE inContact system. These ports vary depending on the configuration and geographic location of your business unit. Ask your NICE inContact team if you are unsure which ports list applies to you.

For many customers, no change is required on their side as NICE inContact uses standard Web (HTTP) and Secure Web (HTTPS) transactions. The default port used for Web (HTTP) transactions is port 80. Secure Web transactions (HTTPS) are handled by port 443.

For clarity in discussing ports, outbound is defined as the customer initiation point to NICE inContact. Inbound is defined as the NICE inContact initiation point to the customer site.

You cannot run ping/trace route speed tests to the IP addresses listed. When performing ping and trace route tests, use the following:

speedtest-dal.incontact.com = 207.166.92.15

speedtest-lax.incontact.com = 207.166.95.55

If you try to ping or trace route using the IPs you put in your browser, you will not get accurate results. It is normal to show packet loss if you use these IPs.

NICE inContact client-side applications do not access all IP addresses within these ranges, but we require the flexibility to move services to alternate devices within the defined ranges.

Services on these ports provide connectivity to features such as ACD (automatic call distribution)System that recognizes, routes, and connects calls to available agents based on skill and priority., resource discovery, reporting, voice communication, and so on.

You should also unblock emails from inContactxxx@incontact.com (such as, passwords@inContact.com or NGAgentEventLog@incontact.com) to avoid important emails being blocked by your spam filter.

Hard phone and softphone configuration must include opening TCP ports 80 and 443 and, for hard phones only, UDP port 123, to the following:

Open Ports - SIP Services

For all SIPProtocol for signaling and controlling multimedia communication sessions such as voice and video calls. services, port 5060 must be open for inbound/outbound as all SIP messaging traverses this port. UDP is the default; however the end point can be adjusted to TCP based on preference. When a call is established, audio (RTP) ports are dynamically assigned from the available range of UDP ports: 1024 through the end of the range, 65,535. These RTP ports only need to be open for outbound communication.

Hosted VoIPVoice communications and multimedia sessions over the Internet. with SRTP w/TLS uses port 5061 instead of port 5060. If you use encryption on your softphonesA software program for making telephone calls over the Internet using a computer instead of a telephone., you must open this port.

TLS (Transport Layer Security) is a replacement for SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). SSL and TLS capabilities of your browser can be verified by visiting https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/viewMyClient.html.

For all hosted VoIP (Broadsoft Platform), the following ranges apply:

Open Ports - NICE inContact Softphone for IP Voice

These port requirements do not apply to MAX Integrated Softphone.

To register with the license, you must add https://secure.counterpath.com. Users cannot access this via authenticated proxy.

Softphones use the SIPProtocol for signaling and controlling multimedia communication sessions such as voice and video calls. connection. You can find the additional port documentation for SIP in the preceding section of this topic.
